FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRENHAM, Texas – REM Surface Engineering, a leading provider of Isotropic Superfinishing technologies, proudly announces the retirement of longtime employee Steve Shurette after 20 years of dedicated service to the company.
Known affectionately throughout the company as “Steve-O,” Steve joined REM Surface Engineering in 2006 and quickly became an integral part of the growing Brenham facility. During his two decades with the company, he served in a variety of roles that supported daily operations, most notably as a vibratory finishing technician, where he helped train many of REM’s incoming employees. His willingness to share his knowledge and mentor others played a significant role in building the skilled team that continues to support the company’s success today.
Steve also became REM’s internal expert in processing titanium pumps used in artificial heart devices. This highly specialized work required exceptional precision, consistency, and attention to detail. For more than a decade, Steve took great pride in this responsibility, meticulously processing these life-saving medical components while maintaining the highest standards of quality. His commitment to excellence and ownership of this critical process exemplified the professionalism that defined his career.
“Steve-O is a Brenham facility institution. His humor, his stories of his adventures from his long military career, and his true friendship and commitment to his coworkers defined the culture we are grateful for in our close-knit Brenham team,” said Nathan Michaud, Vice President of Strategy & Owner.
The entire REM Surface Engineering team congratulates Steve on an exceptional career and extends its heartfelt thanks for his years of service. We wish him a long, healthy, and fulfilling retirement filled with new adventures, family, and well-deserved relaxation.
