PRESS RELEASE – REM Surface Engineering Announces Key Employee Promotions

Brenham, Texas, (June 27, 2019) – REM Surface Engineering announces key employee promotions throughout its organization. As a leading provider of surface finishing, REM continues its large long-term investment in its employees.

Derek Poehlmann, a skilled manufacturing and automation engineer, was recently promoted to Equipment Engineer. Derek’s keen abilities for design and equipment optimization are a key fit for this role, in which he will support all equipment installations, product design and optimization, and troubleshooting to support ever-changing production environments for REM and its customers.

Adam Pilat previously held the role of Sales Engineer Level III and has been promoted to US Sales Manager for REM. Adam is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and holds a degree in chemical engineering. Adam will bring his near-decade of sales experience within REM’s US network as a leader for our US Sales team, overseeing key accounts and guiding strategic pursuits for REM’s Sales Managers and Technical Account Engineers.

Martin McCormick, promoted to European Sales Manager, has been with REM since 2008 through the European office in the United Kingdom. As European Sales Manager, Martin is instrumental in acquiring new and retaining existing business, as well as overseeing and developing our EU Sales Managers and Process Engineers. He has expertise in a variety of isotropic superfinishing applications including wind turbines, aerospace, and motorsports components.

Patti Mann, after almost a decade supporting all aspects of our Brenham, Texas facility’s operations as Office Supervisor, has accepted a promotion to Technical Account Engineer in REM’s Sales Group. Patti will train with our expert Technical Account Engineers to become a key support asset for major accounts across many industries, with an initial focus on supporting the hand tools industry.

Juanita Gockel, who has worked for almost two years supporting Brenham’s operations team in various areas, as well as working as Human Resources Administrator, has accepted a promotion to Office Supervisor. Juanita’s existing knowledge of REM’s operations adds to her years of experience working as Office Manager/Supervisor for various companies throughout her career.

Nathan Michaud has been named Director of Strategic Initiatives after five years working as both Corporate Special Projects Manager and Human Resources Manager. This new role within REM’s Executive Vital Factors Team (EVFT) is a natural evolution of Nathan’s work in managing key cross-departmental projects, which have been integral to REM’s strategic pursuits. Nathan will continue to lead projects and corporate initiatives critical for REM’s development and future growth, as well as overseeing REM’s personnel management and staff development and structure companywide.
